The big expedition “The Whole Urals by Snowmobile”
The media expedition project “The Whole Urals by Snowmobile” is a unique journey across the entire Urals on AODES snowmobiles, taking place in 2026–2028 with the support of the official distributor of AODES vehicles in Russia, MDV Group.
A team of travelers will lay a snowmobile route across the entire Urals, which will become the basis for reference books and guidebooks for snowmobilers. The column will be led by the expedition organizers, who will ride this difficult route on 3 AODES snowmobiles.
The expedition leader, Konstantin Kuznetsov, is a well-known snowmobile guide in Russia, a member of the Russian Geographical Society, head of the “Snowmobile Guides of the Urals”, the inspirer and initiator of the “Center for Children’s Snowmobile Tourism”, and the author and organizer of the large multi-day snowmobile race across the Ural Mountains, “The Vogul Trail”.
The expedition co-organizer, Anton Kukhta, is a member of the Russian Geographical Society, a Russian Book of Records holder, a top travel blogger on VKontakte, a writer and a traveler who has visited 72 countries and climbed 3 of the 7 highest summits of the world.
The mission of the expedition is to inspire people to travel around Russia and the Urals. To boost domestic tourism. To help people believe in themselves and overcome inner barriers, using the example of the participants of a difficult expedition.
The 4,000 km route is expected to take about 8–10 weeks. According to experienced snowmobilers, covering such a distance in one stage without a break is extremely hard physically and mentally, so it was decided to split the expedition into several stages. The first stage will take place in January 2026 and covers the section from the town of Kuvandyk in the Orenburg Region to the village of Srednyaya Usva in the Perm Krai.
Second stage — winter 2027
Third stage — winter 2028
During the expedition “The Whole Urals by Snowmobile”, an expedition diary will be kept daily in the blogs of the organizers and partners. After the expedition, a documentary film, a reference book for snowmobilers on the Urals and an adventure book are planned.
More about the first stage of the expedition soon.
